The Border at Sixaola would have been the best to date, just got unlucky with the lunch break. It was a very long hour in the midday sun.
Sixaola border crossing. |
The wooden bridge was a challenge, 3 possible routes. I chose the centre. There were large gaps, pieces of wood missing, exposing a view of the river below. Keep the power on, don't slow down.
Customs offices at Sixaola. |
The national park, south of the border. |
All the housing is constructed from timber, all on stilts. Would love to live here, could easily build your own, I was thinking!! Ah, the smell of a timber house.
High up in the hills, a storm brewing. |
It was cold. Had a lucky escape. |
Found this Hostel in the city of David. |
$10 U.S.D. a night. |
Was called the Purple House. |
Paid the price for a snooze in the chair. It was 3am tho !! |
Gotta check the web site yet, I had my photo taken, had a purple shirt on you see, it was meant to be, I am a Purple Person apparently.
From the saddle photo at 60 mph, The Panama Canal, one handed. |
Miraflores Lock on the canal. 14000 ships a year!! |
A new lock is under construction, to accommodate larger vessels. |
Crazy streets of Panama City. Yellow cabs drive to kill. |
So long as the wheels rotate, the taxi is probably safe- ish ???. Wire shredded from the tyre indicates that a new tyre may be required soon, but hang on tight."Where do you want to go"?
Not so posh parts of Panama. Brisk walking pace required. |
Modern up to date Panama City. |
Back street traders, of the old city. |
You can buy a proper knife here. |
Restored parts of the old city. |
Traditionally dressed Panamanian Women, gossiping of course! |
Panama city, an inexpensive place to hang out, I pounded every street in my Walmart Crock's. $10.0 U.S.D. buys ya a whole new wardrobe. The time has come, time to reload the bike and heat to Carti to the sail boat Stahlratte.
